Cathedral from a distance

Today was the fete de la gastronomie so we wandered over to the nearby market where there were lots of free tasters. There were some very nice macarons and we even tried some very fancy chocolates - from the price of them that's the only time we'll eat them!

It was really warm and sunny so we then decided to have an impromptu picnic in a park which we had been recommended by Laura, the Greeter, yesterday. It was rather nice - Martin went to the bakery and we ended up with a vegetable quiche and a goats cheese and lardon fougasse which were pretty tasty.

We then went to the cafe by the river as it will disappear at the end of September. Whiled away a few hours people-watching and having a beer.
