The Crowd

This morning Cathleen and I drove down to Seil after a night in Oban and crossed over to Easdale  on the little ferry so that I could declare the 20th World Stone Skimming Championship open and pay tribute to Donald Melville who has organised it for all that time .

I had last been at the event in in 2012 and I think this one was even better attended, though the weather was worse .  At least the torrential rain from yesterday had stopped but there were a few sharp, heavy and cold showers.   The crowd's enthusiasm was not, however, diminished in any way.
