Let me out, please

Today Barnstaple held its Marathon and Half Marathon. The route comes right by the house where I am staying, looking after Max, so I went out to watch and take some shots of the first runners.  Max was most put out that he had to stay inside the gate - very tough trying to hold a dog that would want to run and take photos so he was safer inside as were me and my camera. 
We have another 4 nights together before his owners return from their holiday.
