Thank You For the Days ..

Lots of Pots

Jedburgh once had a real castle, but it was forever being captured by the English and then the Scots had to go and try to win it back. In 1409 they decided that the best way of avoiding this was to knock it down themselves. There seems to me to be a flaw in this logic, but there it is. Or was.

In the nineteenth century a jail was built on the site. This is the view, pretty much, that would have greeted released prisoners as they walked out of the gate.

Apologies for the history lesson, but today's activities up here on the hill did not provide any photo opportunities.

TM was wrestling with his polytunnel project. There was some grumbling about having 5 of one bit and 3 of another, when it should have been 4 of each, but apparently he has managed to bodge it. And I did some more hacking back of this year's mad growth in the garden. The end is not in sight.
