When the evening sun goes down

It was the painter's last canvas. Some said that the old man had lost his touch. Others that it was his masterpiece. It certainly wasn't the old man's best work but it contained the distillation of all that he had learnt over the course of several decades.

In the end, though, and this WAS the end, it was pointless trying to evaluate the picture away from its context, it would always be famous as the final gleam from the master of light's lantern.
