Locust Legs

The lad has been away for a few days again, this time on a survival camp with Explorer Scouts. They've been staying in the woods of Dudmaston Estate near Bridgnorth. Bracken shelters were built, fires started, food prepared and he sharpened and used his new camp knife he received last Christmas, not something you can usually take on camp. The menu included locusts, various bugs and worms, he was brave and said they weren't too bad if you didn't think about what you were actually eating, but it was strange finding a locust leg stuck in his teeth!
Back home from camp cake was chocolate cake with buttercream, I've never been allowed to forget I put chocolate ganache on once instead of buttercream, what a terrible mother.
