Cutting the beech hedge

Before we moved here, a beech hedge had been planted in the middle of our garden. Two rows of trees with a path in-between. Almost 20 years later, despite yearly trimming, the rows have joined in the middle and it has become  difficult to manage. So we made the decision to remove the trees on one side. Here is D in an awkward position, sawing the trunk of the penultimate tree...(there were 23 in all)
