A very long day

The alarm went off at 4.00am this morning. We got the Shuttle to the airport and we then took a nine hour flight to Chicago. In Chicago we had an hour or so to wait before we got the next flight to Kansas, which took just over an hour. Shuttle bus to the car hire place and then a 50 mile drive west to Lawrence where we are staying for the next few days. I've added a location in case anyone is interested where we actually are! It's now 5.30pm which means it's 11.30pm at home, so we've been on the go for around 19 hours.

We don't want to go to bed yet as we'll only wake up really early so we'll have a quick freshen up then out for a walk and a drink. I know a good Brew-pub which is only two blocks from the hotel so we'll probably aim there. In the meantime this is just a view out of the hotel room window over the Kansas river; I'll do something a bit better tomorrow.
