Cumbria's top 50 trees

Went with the group round to Martindale today - we were lucky with the weather - it rained in Keswick all day, and we had just a few light showers.

Was at the old Church of St Martin, when two ladies looking at the yew tree in the grounds asked if I could photograph them for this nomination, and explained about the competition to find the top 50 trees in Cumbria.

The yew at this church is reputed to be 1300 years old.

I have also nominated a tree for this competition now, and will report later - I'll be touting for votes!
