Ready for a Ride

We traveled from Rapid City to Pierre, SD, and visited the Cultural Heritage Center there. This fine stage coach is named "Kittie." She traveled the 215-mile treacherous route from Medora to Deadwood, Dakota Territory, carrying mail, freight and passengers. The stage line provided a link between mining camps and the Northern Pacific Railroad. You could make the 36-hour trip for only $21.50. Such a deal!
