Pre Season Quidditch Training

Argus Filch has a major job clearing the leaves for the first year's Quidditch training today. This always baffled me as Quidditch is played in the air. Much to God's annoyance (Brian Clough) who put the pitch on grass, not in the clouds. 
I'm not a fan of the long ball game either.
