Team GB

The way to celebrate a silver medal in sailing is to capsize your boat, leap into the sea, light an SOS Flare and wave a Union Jack!

Today I went to watch the Olympic regatta at Weymouth. The natural grandstand on the side of 'The Nothe' commanded a fine view of the course looking towards the Isle of Portland. The weather was a bit too good really as there was only a light breeze, but the wall to wall sunshine made up for it as I relaxed and soaked up the atmosphere.

GB were guaranteed a minimum of silver in both the men's and women's 470 class. They both adopted an all or nothing approach to the final race, unfortunately neither were able to step up to gold.

The remainder of the women's matches were called off as the wind dropped and will be completed tomorrow.
