Taking Shape

Southampton’s city centre Watermark development is clearly nearing completion — from the outside, at least.
The £70 million complex is an extension of the existing West Quay shopping centre and is due to open before the end of the year promising to be a new leisure and dining hub with a landmark 10 screen cinema, over 20 restaurants and a new high quality public plaza for the city supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.
There are plans for shops, cafés, restaurants, a luxury cinema, a hotel and housing to flank a public plaza overlooking the historic medieval town walls.
Sounds great and almost continental and is clearly set to rival the Gunwharf Quay waterside 20 miles along the coast at Portsmouth.
Certainly some impressive names are already on the list of eating places set to open in the area.

Can’t wait!
