Noon

An enjoyably ordinary day catching up after six days of fieldwork. I dropped Ben in Stamford and returned home via Uffington and Barnack, which involves negotiating a manned level crossing, one of the few remaining. The gates were closed to allow a goods train to pass, possibly one of those that I saw at Whitemoor earlier this week. While I was parked I thought I'd take a quick iPhone snap of the crossing keeper's hut - who knows how long it will be there?

In other news, Alex returned to work after a very nasty bout of tonsillitis and Ben managed to rearrange his A level subjects, so is a lot happier. A good end to the week.
