Extra special afternoon tea

We "travelling ladies" had a trip out to beautiful Ponden Hall for a tour of the hall & afternoon tea.  This huge table was in the lounge/dining room, & we had wonderful sandwiches, scones & cakes - we were so full we couldn't do them all justice.  Julie the owner was a very knowledgeable guide, & told us the really interesting history of this fabulous property owned by the Heaton family with close connections to the Brontes. Extras show one of the lovely bedrooms with a "box bed" & a secret door (the bookcase moves to allow access to the next bedroom) & a lovely rocking horse in another bedroom.  A fascinating afternoon!
