A New Day

Ruby

We have arrived safely at our daughter's home in Essex, although it took much longer than planned thanks to an hour sitting in a traffic jam on the M74 this morning. A vehicle fire, we heard on the traffic report, so very unpleasant for some poor soul. No ambulances, so presumably nobody was injured, thank goodness.

We'd just got started again when there was a huge cloud of smoke enveloping the motorway and all the cars stopped again. This time it was a bus whose engine had blown up, perhaps due to sitting for an hour with its air conditioning running. It cleared quickly and we were on our way again, but it was rather scary.

Sorry it's another cat photo, but this is the first time we have seen the new kitten, Ruby, who is now 5 months old and so sweet and so tiny compared to our two. She's a companion for their first cat, Millie - whose nose has been put out of joint by the newcomer, although they are beginning to get along now!
