Diesel Gala

An unusual weekend for the Steam Railway as there were no actual steam engines running and a set of diesel engines took centre stage for the Diesel Gala.
This beautifully restored engine No. 03917 built in 1960 was ferried over from England especially for the show . Many diesel enthusiasts came over for the event and enjoyed viewing and travelling on a variety of passenger and goods trains evoking the change over from steam to motor power during the mid 60s.
