Time taking a toll

I ventured on high today! Up inside the steeple of the church at Enniskeane (1871) to examine the condition of the interior. Amazing to see how people built these structures without machinery and scaffold!
High up in the steeple is this bell which was cast in Murphy's Foundry, Dublin, in 1874, and heisted up in this church onto a wheel-based iron mechanism with a rope going all the way to the ground.
The original mounts and ringing mechanism rusted a few decades back and were replaced with galvanised steel and these, thankfully, are weathering very well.
It has rung almost every day for 142 years!
