Then the Rains Came

The week has been very hot, uncomfortably so, and the garden is parched and dry.

So when the rumbles started in the North and the light breeze began to freshen, It seemed to herald a thunderstorm.

In fact it took about three hours for the storm to brew and after huge claps of thunder and some five minutes of sheeting rain the whole performance moved away eastwards. At least it meant I didn't have to water the pots.

Five days before I head off on holiday, so loads to do to catch up in garden, final tomatoes to be stored, onions lifted ,courgettes gathered, that will leave the remaining oka to swell and autumn planting to start in September.
