Common darter

Hadn't seen this little chap in the garden before. He was sitting on the lavender I'd put by the pond yesterday to attract bees. He seemed curious and not in the least bit shy of the camera as you can see from the dozen shots of him I've uploaded here. No idea whether this is the best but I liked the sunlight highlighted on his wings.

Pleased to see that nephew, Matt, got to see and blip the two big Olympic nights for British athletics - Mo and Jess. Fine pics, both.
