Bantry Town

Thanks for all the well wishes for Himself. The medication has kicked in and his back is feeling a lot less painful and he can walk without the aid of his walking poles! Unfortunately a lot of the medication contains side effects - mainly, as the doctor put it, dopiness! His head has now gone but the pain is better. Ah well.

I had to go into Bantry for the shopping. The market was in full swing. This is the view from the car park looking up into the town. once the sea went right up through the centre until the land was reclaimed for the Square. Points of interest include the Protestant church to the left, the Catholic church up on the hill, the funeral bell dolefully chiming, and on the right hand side, the odd beige building is the Garda station. If you biggify you can see all the little market stalls.

The extra pic is for Apothecary7 and is the rather scary St Bridget with the coathanger staff!
