Desperation

It was such a long day and it was dark when I got home (7:30 and it is dark) and I was so busy from the start of the day until now...  I had no idea what to blip (the cats are out doing cat things in the dark).

And so here we have my newest book.  In German, recommended by a colleague and it weighs about the same as Moot.  No idea if it is any good but we'll give it a try.

Had my longest ever German telephone conversation today - about 80 minutes - didn't give up AND at the end I got the problem fixed.  A problem that I could have solved in 5 seconds when we were on the mainframe, but because we're using these fantastic, new, shiny pc tools, it took 80 minutes of their "Help" not being help and the instructions that I found to help were in need of an editor who had tried to follow them.

There's a big difference between helping and showing that you know a lot about a topic.
