Manufactory?

I've never heard the word before but maybe it's where 'Manufacturing' comes from.
This is the site of the Morelands' Match Company, the boxes of matches with the ship on them. Morelands' made matches for 100 years, 1867 to 1967 and was one of the companies that put Gloucester on the map, as well as Gloster Aircraft Company, the 2,000 year old Cathedral, the furthest inland docks in the country, founder of Sunday schools Robert Raikes etc..

It's the only photo I've taken today, spotted it after dropping Lennon off at the Laser Quest / Karting place in Bristol Road. Took him down on the bike, which he loved as it made a change from the 1 mile journey from school. It was a birthday party for one of his friends so he was really pleased when a couple of the arriving children saw him on the bike!
