Victorian Pillar Box.

Today we are in Banbury, Oxfordshire. And a visit to Banbury would not be complete without taking a photo of this genuine Victorian pillar box (genuine - because many of the so-called Victorian boxes around the country are in fact later replicas installed by Royal Mail in touristy areas). Very few of these "vertical slot" boxes were installed before they realised that the design allowed rain to get in - and the "horizontal-slot" became the norm.
