Yosemite Valley View, Sentinel Beach

Half Dome is sticking up on the right, North Dome is visible behind the tree on the right. We are exploring a bend in the river that we've never seen before. We seem to discover something new every time we come to the Park, quite a feat after 30 plus years.  Right off the main road, and almost completely deserted, this is a wide sandy beach that would offer great swimming in the heat of the summer. Right now the river is alarmingly shallow and quiet, Yosemite Falls is dry, and there are many dying pines on neighboring hillsides. And yet the view is breathtaking, shimmering with energy and life.
