Giving this a go...

Dapdune Wharf

We met up with some friends from Scotland today who we hadn't seen for ages. We knew Bill and Wendy through the mountaineering club at uni and they've now got 3 kids who are the same age as ours. Wendy's parents live nearish us and they're down visiting so we met up at this National Trust place in Guildford today.

We had a look round the visitor centre/museum then walked along the river- not very far though as we were on a bug hunt (we found loads of different things and caught some- including a cricket- in the bug catching pot the kids were given at the ticket office) and so kept getting distracted by bugs and some cool wooden sculptures including giant hands that the kids spent ages climbing on. Then had a picnic, a boat trip and then the adults sat in the sun while the kids spent ages running pretend boat trips from the boat in this photo, doing running races through the boat and rolypoly races down the hill.
It was a great day and you'd never have thought that the kids didn't know each other at all a few hours earlier.
