The Blue Dream

Another day of getting ready for a week of operations with Facing Africa.

After breakfast we walked to the hospital, dodging the traffic at the Bob Marley Roundabout (it has a statue of Bob with dreadlocks flying). People were heading to church, dressed in white shawls and carrying bunches of yellow daisies.

The last few patients were assessed and photographed and then there was a planning meeting to decide which patients would be operated on and when, so that the theatre schedule could be drawn up for the two weeks. While we were doing this, other members of the team were sorting out the stores and the wards ready for tomorrow.

Then it was time for lunch at the Blue Dream, our favourite restaurant near the hospital. Lots of tables were put together to accommodate the whole team.

The calm before the storm, someone said :-)
