Now, as I see it......

In the dunes of the Cape....

Thanks for all the comments on my Blip yesterday. After a very stormy night we woke to a dry and very windy morning, but the weather improved as the day wore on. We drove up to Provincetown at the northern end of the Cape. A fascinating place; the town is largely a gay/lesbian community and although there were a lot of tourists it still felt as though we were in the minority as a 'straight' couple. Great atmosphere and some unusual shops. The town is sheltered on the inner side of the Cape so the water is calm but we then drove over to the north side and took a walk on the beach which is open to the full fury of the Atlantic with some fantastic waves and breakers. Finally we drove down to Marconi Beach where Marconi sent the first ever trans-Atlantic telegram. Having seen the place on the Lizard in Cornwall where it was received a couple of years ago, it was interesting to have now seen where it was sent from.
