Ristras at Hatch

On sale at Hatch, New Mexico, which claims to be Chile Capital of the World.

A ristra is an arrangement of drying chili pepper pods. Although their main purpose is to preserve chilis for later consumption, ristras are commonly used decoratively in chili-producing areas, especially New Mexico.

Today we completed our journey of 400 miles from Socorro, NM to our home in SaddleBrooke, near Tucson, AZ. Lois slept most of the way and was happy to be home.
