Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The Oregon Coast

The closer we got to the coast today the clearer and sunnier it was!   Wow what a day.  Decided to spend some time at Yaquina Head natural area , a narrow coastal headland formed by ancient lava flows and take the excellent  tour of this lighthouse ( the extra) that has been operating continuously since 1873 ( automated in 1966). Explored some of the beaches and watched grey whales and lots of brown pelicans, cormorants and seals.   Went to the old Bay Area in Newport and picked up dinner ( clam chowder, fish and chips, and crabcakes) and brought it back to our hotel to eat, sitting on our balcony to watch the sun go down on the Pacific. Perfect!  Had to blip the sea, and don't often enjoy this fabulous view right in front of me.  .  Will have a walk there in the morning, right out the door.
