Old Man of Storr

One of the must-see places in the highlands, this is on the east coast of Skye and easy to reach by car. The car park was full but there's a long lay-by where we could leave the car.

There's been an EU funded project to improve access and the first few stages of the foot route are now a good quality path that cuts through the old bog

The ascent all the way to the top of the 61-million year old rocks is about 800m but we were satisfied with going to the pinnacle and then a viewpoint on a hill a bit past it where I took this picture.
