...and Dacelo novaeguineae , the laughing kookaburra, is the world's largest kingfisher.



Also called Giant Kingfisher, Laughing Jackass and Settler’s/ Bushman’s Clock the latter certainly rings true as they are up and chuckling before dawn.
And as dawn is breaking early these days the street's resident rooster is sometimes beaten to the morning call.
