Nothing happens here...

Waterline

As I'm building a waterline model the hull of the Island Class is not as daunting as more of the curvaceous vessels in the Calmac fleet.  It is quite slab sided apart from some curved steel at the stern wrapping around the passenger section - section 4 in this build.  What you see here is section 3.  It still needs a final skin applied to the whole side so it looks quite basic in this form.

Now that I've fathomed out the basic shapes I can start on the completion of the underside of the wheelhouse and take all other dimensions from it.  It's taken me a while to fathom this out but I think it's about right.

The bulkhead here is just a strengthener, the detailed plug in will be added later this week.  Notice that the builders plate has been replaced and is now 3D and there are new 'warning' decals applied to the wheelhouse.  More on the rear.

Section 1 is the ramp and associated steelwork of the bow, section 2 will be the loading deck, 3 is the wheelhouse and 4 will be the stern.
