9/11 South Pool Memorial

Today was the first day of our long awaited holiday to NYC and Orlando.

We left Edinburgh a little later than scheduled but arrived at JFK on time.

Traditional yellow cab to Manhattan to our hotel in the Financial District and we quickly dumped our bags before going for a wander.

We were minutes away from the WTC site and although I really wanted to visit here another time to spend time reflecting on what happened 15 years ago we were drawn here immediately.

The North Pool and South Pool memorial sites are spectacular and very poignant.

I will return here in the future.

We then headed up Broadway to get the kids a bite to eat before returning to the hotel so the mums and kids could get some sleep.

Andy and I headed out for a pint and found the NYC Stout bar a few blocks away and enjoyed a few pints of local stouts before being swayed into joining in their Trivia night.
