I was lucky to arrive at the shore of Derwentwater just as the sun lit the trees and a canoeist was paddling across.  From there a short wander before hitting the supermarket for a coffee (too early for cake) and a bit of shopping. 

Driving south out of Keswick the light was amazing. We saw crepuscular rays and glowing hills. Anyone who happened to be at Castlerigg stone circle just before 10 o’clock should have had superb views and photos (if they had a camera). 

Mid afternoon now and it’s raining.
