Mystery Macro Revealed

Yesterday's tiny little seed, that was sitting on a dime, if put in soil will become a towering palm tree.

When we first moved here, I had no idea how many seeds these trees produce during the season and how important it is to have them trimmed before the flowers go to seed. The following year, after letting the trees seed, our lawn was 75% baby palm trees. Since the root system is the same as grass, the only way to get rid of them, without destroying the grass, was to hand pick them. Live and learn.

The palms that are in the lower left corner are date palms. The quail are very fond of these when they drop.

I am grateful for the miracle of nature.
