Little Egret

Apologies for a low resolution photo but it's been heavily cropped from a low-spec bridge camera.

I've spent the last two lunchtimes trying to get a photo of the Little Egret I spotted at our local lake earlier in the week. There are said to only be 660 - 740 breeding pairs of this lovely bird in the UK, having first appeared here in the late 80's. I've never seen one in this area before this week.

Apart from the usual ducks, geese and swans on the lake I saw three Cormorants (see extra for another grainy shot), a pair of Jays and a Heron. A pretty good lunchtime.
