Medal 'N Kids

We were very lucky to have a visit from Olympian Frances Houghton (all 6 ft 4 of her) at school today. She has won medals in rowing at the Athens, Beijing and Rio olympics. She put on a brilliant assembly for the children including an opening ceremony ( complete with Union Jack waving) a rowing race with spectators and everyone was allowed to hold the medals. She finished off with a question and answer session; the best question being 'what do you do if you're rowing and you need a wee?'
We all learned lots about the life of an Olympian and left with a new found respect for the work and dedication which goes into being a successful athlete.
