Cabanes and Carrelets

These rather rickety looking wooden piers with their 'Cabanes' perched on top are common in this part of France.
These are on the Gironde estuary. The fishing nets slung out over the water in front of them are known as Carrelets.
They are part of the local heritage and these days are greatly prized by the families that own them.
They are quite picturesque and I have previously blipped one  before further north at Fouras.
