Smiling Salvador

Went for a late walk across the river, saw the heron and the egret that are often there; saw a very red sunset with cork trees silhouetted against it; and the almost full moon rising behind feathery grasses against a pink sky - but my chosen photo is this gentleman, who we've had a lot of long conversations with and learnt a lot from (always with a twinkle in his eyes) - because he is moving away on Sunday.

His name is Salvador (Saviour) and we first met him when we ended up trespassing on the land he was looking after - he kindly showed us how to get out without having to retrace our steps. His landlady has raised the rent, which would be almost all of the 300 euros he gets as a pension, and he's not "in" with the local charity - so one of the many grandchildren he raised is going to take him in - he seems quite happy about it, and presumably she'll be happy to have help with her rent.
