Dawn
A fleeting moment
In the timeline of life
Lasting
But a heartbeat
In the overall existance
Seen
And marked
Only by the eyes
That have cast away sleep
And minds
Open to the concept
Of a newly created world
Eyes
That have stared
Into the blankness of sleep
And fluttered
In the throes
Of dreams
Unhinged
From the frame of reality
Left hanging by a single screw
Whose thread
Tenacious to the last
Fights the gravitational pull
Of madness's release
So craved
By a distracted
And exhausted mind
That throws caution
Away with the reins of control
In the hope
Of finding
Comfort
In the hope
