The flowers that bloom in the spring, tra-la...
Derelict Sunday is celebrating its birthday this week, and so is Christina! Her birthday is on Tuesday, which is partly why she's down here for the weekend - so that we could give her her presents and take her out for a birthday celebration. She, Immy, Simon and I had a lovely run over to Upper Moutere, where we had brunch with bubbles at Mahana vineyard, and the weather cleared up beautifully. The sun shone and the mountains looked magnificent with their fresh (and rather belated) dusting of spring snow. We all got a little sunburnt sitting out on the terrace.
Afterwards, we drove into the village of Upper Moutere to have a look at a pottery studio, where this wonderful old derelict settler's cottage is covered with a profusion of Wisteria. At this time of year, when it's in flower, it's a beautiful sight (see a close-up of the cottage here).
This evening, Christina has been doing some sewing for me, but I can't reveal exactly what, at the moment.
