Getting away from it all.

Wee holiday. But where to go? We drove for five and a half hours through the back of beyond, then on to the middle of nowhere, took a left and headed for the edge of nowhere. Nearly a hundred and ninety miles and the road ends right outside the front door, any further and you need a boat. We arrived in a howling gale with waves crashing up the rocks, it's nearly dark and it's only half six! Weather dreadful.

The gaff is rather fun but alarmingly close to the storm waves thundering onto the rocks just yards away. I am reminded of the keepers of the Eilean Mor lighthouse. I shall no doubt blip it tomorrow if the storm abates. We'd invite the neighbours round - but there aren't any. For miles.

Otherwise the wine is open (business as usual), pizza cooking, log burner lit and Strictly on the telly.

...and relax.

Two and a half hours later .....The weather is getting worse, mobiles signals (three networks) fail frequently - 10 second conversations. Land line is down, internet really flaky....waves are getting closer....louder!

And to cap it all there is a 'K' missing from the scrabble game! Nooooooo!
