Penguin Droppings

Whaump!

Yesterday there was a strong wind from the east but although the waves were high, they were not really spectacular.

Today, the wind has dropped locally but the waves generated out in the North Sea are now coming ashore.

This explosion of spray was produced when the moment an incoming wave hit the rocks, a wave that had reflected off the old harbour wall, struck from the opposing side.  Constructive interference made the resulting plume really photogenic.

I was lucky that a small flock of oystercatchers were flying overhead at the same time. NO, They definitely weren't stitched in afterwards.
