Another dog walk, another damp and dreich day as far as the weather is concerned, but the riot of colour from the foliage more than makes up for it. This shot was taken at the 1st linn, this area used to be a dye/bleach works a long time ago, my mum remembers as a child that the water up here ran green, pink and blue at different times. Way before the days of SEPA and other environmental agencies. All the buildings related to that time are gone, including the beautiful villa that once stood nearby, much to the anger of local residents the council allowed it to remain derelict and open to vandalism. The wildlife has returned in abundance, I regularly see herons, mallards, cormorants, the water has pike, brown trout and minnows. Roe deer, owls, kestrels/kites and buzzards too. Nature reclaimed.
