Flint

We've continued our tour of the north Wales coast by way of Flint, including a wee amble around Flint Castle. The ruins are very picturesque and the history is interesting too, but unfortunately I can't actually remember any of it now. I have to put my hand up to being a bit of a goldfish brain where historical facts and figures are concerned. However I do remember lots of biology, including the name of the potato blight fungus that I learned for my A level, forty years ago (Phytophthora infestans, if you're interested). Go figure.

The photo is of a lovely stone staircase in the large tower attached to the castle by a bridge - it used to be a drawbridge, which would have been much more fun!
