Day 17 : Pink October

Breast Cancer Awareness Month : Pink Wild Thyme

Today the walking group traveled to Bannockburn, and walked from the car park to Stewart Town.  It was such a beautiful walk, with the wild thyme in flower amongst the rocks and old gold mining tailings.  We walked along a narrow path (Extra 1).  As we climbed higher, the wild thyme was replaced with Californian Poppies.  We had our lunch at Stewart Town, then headed down the loop track via the old Blacksmith's forge.  (Photo)   We had a very welcome cold drink at a local cafe before heading for home.
