Sunday: After The Vet's

We took Fred on his first trip to the vet here as we noticed that his right eye has been a bit blinky of late.  He's also generally slowing down a little so it was no bad thing to take him for a check up.  Our new vet is amazing - open at the weekends, incredibly friendly and thorough.  She was great with him and really took her time.

She couldn't detect anything wrong with his eye and suspects that it may just be linked to his vestibular disease (it's not harmful - it means he tilts his head when walking and it can affect his balance slightly, but he has learnt to live with it quite well).  Generally, she thought he was in really good shape considering he is nearly 17.  He does need a bit of help with his grooming - he is struggling to reach his back legs and given he has such a fluffy coat, he can get a little knotted.  So she has shaved the worst of it and we'll take him back for a proper grooming.

I am pleased to report that the books are finally all sorted and a good selection of pictures are on the wall.  We'll have to get someone round to help hang the bigger ones.
