Stabbur

Nothing extraordinary today, in fact the opposite, the mundane. It is very common for the minor roads to pass straight through the center of the farms, presumably just as they did centuries gone by. The building is a typical stabbur - storehouse on a farm. These were traditionally one of the few buildings on the farm the was locked... presumably because of the valuable food inside. They were built above the ground for 2 reasons, to provide ventilation to prevent moisture building up in the floor, and also to prevent mice and rats entering the building.

I also saw 2 moose about 2km further up the road... I initially thought they were horses, but wondered why horses were seemingly roaming free. Enormous!
