catch me while you can

...once all the chores were done, we took advantage of the hot, sunny, humid weather by enjoying another wildlife walk on Ballard Down. It was butterfly heaven and I came back with loads of acceptable images. Once again, my blip choice has not been selected from the most detailed or well composed shots but is the one that gave me the greatest pleasure.

Holly Blues Celastrina argiolus nearly always rest or feed with their wings folded. However, if you are very patient, there is sometimes the possibility of grabbing a few frames while its wings are open.

With so many flies around at the moment, there is a fair chance of something a little less pretty being blipped over the next few days...
